What's in your anime collection?
A bit later tonight, I'll be putting together a list of the anime that I own. There's definitely a lot out there that I'd love to have, but that costs money that I simply don't have! As the years go on my collection will grow, but I'm pretty happy with what I have now. As I said, you'll get to check that out later tonight.
I'm more interested in hearing what you guys have in your collections. Digital, DVD, Blu-ray, VHS...I want to hear it all! Share what has made it into your anime library over the years, and feel free to let everyone else know what you're looking to pick up soon.

Well, I've got a couple old DBZ and Gundam Wing VHS tapes I don't seem to have the will to toss out.
ReplyDeleteThese days my collection of what one would term "anime" is all Miyazaki DVDs and Blu-rays.
I don't have a big collection. I usually just get my shows and movies from Netflix. The shows I DO own are just Cowboy Bebop and Samurai Champloo. I would like to have a larger collection, but at the moment I'm focusing my budget on video games ;)

I don't have a collection. Same with regular movies and such. I would probably watch it once and never pick it up again. So it wouldn't be very cost efficient.
ReplyDeleteI think the hardest part of trying to get into anime is the cost to purchase it, especially when it's all over YouTube and Anime sites for free AND in HD.
ReplyDeleteI've only purchased the two Death Note box sets, but that wasn't until I had already watched the series for free. Sure, I had anime shows like Pokémon and Yu-Gi-Oh on VHS when I was younger, but at that time I didn't know it was an anime.
It's funny because I'll walk away from a complete series box set for $50, and then buy a collector's edition of inFamous 2 for $100, and the game only lasted me four days because of how fast I got the platinum trophy. Balancing being an avid gamer and a casual anime watcher doesn't really work, plus I always feel I don't have time to watch.

ReplyDeleteI don't want to have to type it all out, so here's a link to my collection:

I don't really buy TV series anymore, as I simply don't have the time to commit to watching them. If I feel compelled to I can find plenty on Netflix or other places for free (legally).
I do still buy movies though, and I hope to pick-up Summer Wars and the Girl Who Leapt through Time next.
Let's see...

I like to keep my collection fairly small. Mainly, I only go out of my way to buy series I truly enjoy. Fist of the North Star and School Rumble are pretty much it. I'd like to pick up Princess Jellyfish (kuragahime or something like that) and Natsu no Arashi, but they are Japanese only releases to my knowledge.
