The Question 04/30 - What anime did you watch this weekend?

My weekend was absolutely insane.  There was so much going on that I barely had time to relax.  Things finally calmed down by Sunday night, which means we had a bunch of people over for a WWE pay-per-view event!  Yeah, it was a busy weekend with family parties and an early podcast, so I was absolutely maxed out for time.

I hope you guys had a more relaxing weekend than I did!  I also hope it involved a bit of anime watching.  Leave a comment or send us a Tweet to let us know what you watched!

UK getting new anime-game focused magazine, MyM

- coming from media start-up MyMags
- launches next month in the UK
- focuses on anime-based video games
- features on the TV series', movies and books as well
- due out May 3rd for £3.45

“We feel equipped and that we have the right people involved to make it happen and make it special. The design is looking really good, and we’ve got all the shows booked up so we can show fans the magazine in advance. Current anime-based media isn’t really taken seriously for its games coverage. MyM is different because we have established journalists reviewing games in a way that gamers are accustomed to.” - publisher Tarik Alozdi

Library War: The Wings of Revolution - latest promo

Another anime I'd love to see.  There's so much content in the states that I don't have the time to check out.  Just thinking about that is enough, but when I start to ponder all the new anime airing in Japan and old anime that never got localized, my head starts to explode.  At least my wallet stays a bit happier this way.

The Question 4/23 - What anime did you watch thsi weekend?

I had an insanely busy weekend.  Nintendo announced 2 big events on Thursday night, both of which had to be covered on Friday and Saturday.  Throw in the weekly podcast, and I was absolutely strapped for time.  These events were also late at night and early in the morning, which means I hardly got any sleep!  My body is still out of whack, but I hope yours is doing well!

What anime did you get to check out this weekend?  Please fill me in so I can feel better about not having time to watch any!

Senran Kagura getting anime adaptation

Awhile back, I talked about a 3DS game called Senran Kagura. The game opened up with a gorgeous anime intro that made me long for an actual anime adaptation. It seems that my blog post wasn't just wishful thinking. Today we've come to learn that Senran Kagura is indeed getting an anime adaptation!

There are no details on what animation house will be working on the series or what kind of tone it will take. All we know is that talks are going on right now. I think we know one thing for sure. The anime is going to feature girls with bountiful bosoms, tiny amounts of clothing and lots of ninja action!

The Question 4/16: What anime did you check out this weekend?

I sure hope you did more this weekend than make sure your taxes were filed! I know I did! It was a very busy weekend indeed, but I actually had some time to check out some previously viewed anime.

We had a friend stay over for the weekend at our place, and this friend is open to any/all kinds of experiences. That means I had a chance to show her some anime! After going through my collection and looking for something that fit into genres she liked, we went with Full Metal Alchemist.

She checked out two episodes and is now absolutely hooked! This friend travels a lot for her work, but she's always got digital content lined up on her laptop. For her flights with in-flight wifi, she'll be continuing her time spent with FMA. I can't tell you how happy that makes me.

We also checked out the the first episode of FLCL, just to see what kind of reaction she had. She was intrigued, but said she would have to watch the first episode a few times over before she got what the hell was going on. That's an argument I can completely understand!

That was my anime fun for the weekend, now what was yours?

Lupin the Third - Ep. 02 stills

You know I think the new Lupin the Third TV series is gorgeous. That's why I think I'll be turning Thursday posts into screencap collections of each new episode! I just can't get enough of these visuals.

Okami-san and Her Seven Companions Available Now on BD/DVD Combo

The more emails about anime I get, the more I realize just how much content is out there. I'll never have enough time to watch all the anime that interests me! I guess that's not really a complaint to get upset about. So much great content, just not enough time!

The Question 4/9: What anime did you check out this weekend?

I'm guessing a large amount of you didn't have any anime action this weekend. With the Easter Bunny visiting many a house, I'm sure most of you went to bed early in order to get that sweet basket of chocolate and other candy! Now that the bunny has come and gone, it should be time to get back into anime!

As for me, I spent part of the weekend drooling over the Lupin the Third series, and hoping that it somehow gets a stateside release. For now, I'm going to keep cycling through stills for my wallpaper!

If you did check out any anime this weekend, please feel free to share!

Your Friday WTF: Ryuk McDonald

You know I'm a fan of Death Note, which means I couldn't resist posting up this 'Ryuk McDonald' for the Friday WTF feature. I think this version is actually a lot scarier than the original!

The truly gorgeous artwork of the new Lupin the Third TV series

If only I could understand Japanese. I am dying to see the new Lupin the Third TV series. It's available online to see, and it's all legal. The thing is, it's all in Japanese. I'm sure someone out there has already added subs for English viewers, but I want to keep things in the realm of the law-abiding.

At least I can drool over the absolutely gorgeous artwork from the first episode. Yes, it may not be as flashy or high-concept as the stuff most anime fans like, but I think it's truly beautiful. The character designs meshed with the color palette makes for something truly unique and stimulating.

The Question 4/2: What anime did you check out this weekend?

I've been fighting back a cold for awhile now, so I've been using my downtime to take naps. On top of that, this weekend was Wrestlemania1 Cleaning the house for our viewing party and then actually watching the event took up a large chunk of my weekend. That's not to mention the usual GoNintendo podcast and other work that I am normally involved in.

While I didn't get to watch any anime, I did get to purchase something. I got my hands on a copy of the newly remastered Grave of the Fireflies. I'll be posting more on that tomorrow, so get ready for some tears!

What anime did you manage to check out this weekend?
