Anime Expo Day 1: Which newly-announced series localization are you looking forward to the most?

I'm sure all of you know this already, but just incase you don't, the Anime Expo 2011 kicked off today!  That means we're going to get to hear about all sorts of anime that has been picked up for North American localization.  While we're only through the first day of announcements, we already have a healthy list of anime that will be officially making its way to North America.  Here are the biggest announcements of the day.

FUNimation

Deadman Wonderland, Steins;Gate, Baka to Test to Shōkanjū Ni!, B Gata H Kei (Yamada's First Time ), and Asobi ni Iku yo! (Cat Planet Cuties)

Viz Media

Puella Magi Madoka Magica and Blue Exorcist

NIS America

Kimi ni Todoke and Dororon Enma-kun Meeramera

Remember, this is only the announcements for the first day.  With more panels to come, I'm sure we'll get more details on anime features that are going to make their way to the states.  I'd say the show got off to a pretty fantastic start, if you ask me!

Out of the titles listed above, which are you most interested to check out?  I know some of you have been watching these anime already, but I'd still like to hear which ones you're really happy to see as picked up for North American audiences.  Personally, I'm really looking forward to sitting down with Blue Exorcist!

  1. Nope, don't know any of those. When's Higurashi no Naku Koro Ni going to get finished with its localization? LOL

  2. Have been watching Deadman Wonderland so would be nice to get that with a dub. Can't wait to see what's next to be announced!

  3. I have no idea what any of those are except Steins;Gate, which I only know because I loved the artwork when I saw the game on XBL (I think on the Japanese one).

That blue flame guy looks cool though. Guess I should look these up.

  4. Out of that list, Madoka Magica, hands down. It's been called the Evangelion of magical girl anime for good reason, and it's well worth checking out!

So far though the winner of the show (in my eyes) was Nozomi, who rescued a trio of older shows (Dirty Pair Flash, Martian Successor Nadesico, Gasaraki), and revealed that they'll be releasing the rest of the original Dirty Pair. In addition, the Dirty Pair movies will have the original Streamline Pictures dubs as bonuses! That's freaking incredible! :)

A close third was Viz for their nabbing Professor Layton.

  5. O lawl Puella Magi Madoka Magica is going to get dub'd?

I already planned on watching it when it finished distributing via BD, and I think I'll stick with the sub. though. At least with an anime like this. Usually dub's aren't "appropriate" with these types :P. But who am I to say that, I haven't even seen it yet.

  6. Nah! Why? Why do they insist on making horrible names? Cat Planet Cuties? Why not a faithful "We've Come to Play!". Yamada's First Time? I admit this one is harder to translate. B Gata (Type B [cup size or blood type]) H Kei (Style H [H referring to sex or perversion]). I no longer watched dubbed shows but a lot of people do.

Out of these, I recommend Steins;Gate, Madoka (It will have worse VA's I can guarantee you), Baka to Test to Shoukanjuu Ni! (2nd season).

If you like weird love comedies then Kimi ni Todoke id pretty good. If you like edger love comedies, B Gata H Kei is okay.

Anime of the post: The World God Only Knows. A light comedy about a gamer who gets caught up in a contract with a demon to capture souls that have escaped hell and inhabit the bodies of depressed or wavering girls. Very fun show.
